Flu Season Visitation Policy
Currently in Effect
Protecting patients from seasonal cold and flu viruses is vital to their recovery. Before you consider visiting a Mercy patient, please review and adhere to our flu season visitation policy:
- Do not visit a Mercy patient if you have cold or flu symptoms. These include fever, cough, body aches, sneezing and runny nose.
- Children under age 14 must not enter patient care areas.
- If you are over age 14 and do not have cold/flu symptoms, you may visit a patient only if you clean your hands with soap and water and/or alcohol sanitizer BEFORE and AFTER your visit.
- Cover all coughs and sneezes. Never cough or sneeze into your bare hands. Use a tissue to avoid spreading germs. Then, throw the tissue away and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. If you do not have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper arm.
Thank you for helping us keep our patients safe!
