Canton, Ohio: At its annual membership banquet, the Mercy Service League presented proceeds from the 2014 Harvest Ball – which totaled $200,000 – to Tom Cecconi, Mercy president & CEO, Dr. Joe Carpenter, DDS, and Debbie Carpenter.
Last year's Harvest Ball, Mercy Service League’s major fundraiser, benefitted Mercy Dental Services General Practice Residency Endowment Fund. Dr. Carpenter was the medical staff chair for the event.
In addition, Mercy Service League installed officers for the 2015-2016 fundraising year, including Anna Mavrakis, president, Julie Gill, vice president, Cindy Ertle, treasurer, Erin Shea, assistant treasurer, Wendy Lichtenwalter, recording secretary, and Daphne Thomson, corresponding secretary.
“We deeply appreciate all that the Mercy Service League does to help us continue the mission of Mercy,” says Tom Cecconi. “Each year, they diligently strive to help us take Mercy facilities and services to new heights, helping our patients, families and the greater community.”
The 2015 Harvest Ball, themed Ignite the Night, will be held Saturday, October 24. All proceeds will benefit the Mercy Facility Transformation Phase 1: 5th Floor Orthopedic/Observation Unit.
Other upcoming Mercy Service League events include a celebrity fundraising party at 91 Wood Fired Oven in Jackson Township on Monday, August 10, and Souper Bowl III on Sunday, January 31, 2016.
