Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center is currently seeking volunteers to serve at the medical center’s information desk, patient transport, emergency, human resources, information services, mail room and volunteer services departments. Training will be provided for all positions.
Information desk volunteers need to have computer knowledge, good telephone etiquette and good customer service skills. Positions are available during different shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Patient wheelchair transporters will learn their way around the hospital and transport patients throughout the medical center. Current openings are 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Mercy Emergency Department is seeking a liaison to welcome patients, visit waiting rooms and serve as a liaison between the patients and visitors and emergency department staff. Applicants should have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable in a busy environment.
Mercy Human Resources is seeking a virtual liaison to help update digital signage located within the hospital. Applicants should possess excellent computer (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint), writing and editing skills. Scheduling is flexible.
Mercy Information Services is offering an unpaid student internship. Students will gain experience working with technology, such as PC performance and maintenance, troubleshooting inquiries, and in customer service, installation and hardware set-up. Applicants must complete an intern volunteer application and a program agreement must exist between the school and Mercy Medical Center prior to the start of the internship.
