Mercy Health Center of Plain to feature STATCARE immediate care, primary care, sports medicine, and radiology and lab services
Canton, Ohio: As part of its long-standing mission to provide quality, compassionate, affordable, and accessible health care for Stark County and beyond, Mercy Medical Center opened its new and expanded Mercy Health Center of Plain on Monday in the revitalized Oakwood Square Plaza in Plain Township. Located at 2638 Easton Street NE, the health center will feature Mercy STATCARE Immediate Care, Mercy Primary Care with Joseph Puskar, MD, sports medicine with Mark Hudak, MD, and radiology and lab services.
This past Friday, Mercy held a blessing and dedication ceremony, as well as a community open house, for the new 6,552-square-foot facility, which will be staffed by 13 employees.
Mercy opened the first and only health center in Plain Township on the campus of Plain Local’s GlenOak High School in 2008. In order to offer more services, the hospital relocated the health center to the Oakwood Square Plaza, which has been undergoing major renovations over the past year.
“It’s exciting to continue and even increase the services Mercy can provide for the people of Plain Township and surrounding areas in this larger, beautifully renovated space,” says Paul Hiltz, president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center. “Mercy has long been an area leader in delivering care to our patients and their families through local health centers. We opened the Mercy Health Center of Carroll County in 1981. In 1984, we started an immediate care facility for minor injuries and illnesses in North Canton, which would later become the Mercy Health Center of North Canton. The Mercy Health Center of Jackson/Massillon was opened in 1994. As of today, we offer nine community health centers and a medical home in Stark, Carroll, and Tuscarawas Counties.”
