Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center is giving the community a chance to learn more about minimally invasive Robotic Surgery and meet this area’s most experienced team on Tuesday, January 19 at 6 pm.
Held inside the Mercy Surgery Center Atrium (lower level), this panel presentation will feature Mercy Robotic Surgeons: Albert T. Domingo, M.D., Steven Ochs, M.D., Aqeel Sandhu, M.D., and Kirby Sweitzer, M.D. focusing on heart surgery, gynecology, urology and general surgery. Attend this program and learn if you are a candidate for robotic surgery, which offers less pain, less scarring and faster recovery time. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees will get a chance to view the robot and watch the surgeons demonstrate how it works. For more information or reservation, call Healthcare Connection at 330-489-1333 or 800-223-8662.
Using the da Vinci Surgical System, the surgeon operates while seated comfortably at a console viewing a 3D image of the surgical field. The surgeon’s fingers manipulate the master controls below the display, with hands and wrists naturally positioned relative to his or her eyes. The system seamlessly translates the surgeon’s hand, wrist and finger movements into precise, real-time movements of surgical instruments inside the patient. The system provides the surgeon with more precision, dexterity and control than traditional open surgery.
