Terri Gursky, Mercy Senior Friends coordinator and Medicare advisor, was awarded the 2014 OSHIIP (Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program) Coordinator of the Year from the Ohio Department of Insurance. Gursky, who also serves as the OSHIIP Stark County coordinator, earned this well-deserved recognition because of her strong leadership skills, dedication and commitment to the program and volunteer efforts, which ensure clients receive outstanding service and accurate information.
Gursky and Mercy's team of OSHIIP volunteers help seniors evaluate Medicare Advantage Plans and prescription drug coverage options by offering free one-on-one consultations. “Determining what’s right for an individual is a mathematical equation based on health, current prescriptions and personal needs, and it may change from year to year,” Gursky says.
Gursky recommends that eligible Medicare enrollees visit Medicare.gov to compare available health plans using the site’s search tools. Enrollees can also attend one of Mercy Medical Center’s Medicare Options marketing events, which include representatives from several different advantage plans, or schedule a one-on-one consultation. For more information, call Mercy Senior Friends at 330-489-1215 or 1-800-223-8662 or visit www.cantonmercy.org/medicare-options.
