Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center is currently seeking volunteers to serve at the medical center’s information desk, gift shop, case management, green team, patient transport and volunteer services departments. Mercy Health Center of Carroll County is seeking a clerical volunteer for its physical therapy department. Training will be provided for all positions.
Mercy Medical Center Volunteer Positions
Information desk volunteers need to have computer knowledge, good telephone etiquette and good customer service skills. Positions are available during different shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Mercy Gift Shop volunteers will run a cash register, stock merchandise and display good customer service skills.
Mercy Case Management is in need of a computer/clerical volunteer. The position is for an individual with computer knowledge and someone who can help the department scan documents.
Mercy Green Team is seeking a volunteer with good customer service skills and computer knowledge (including Microsoft Excel). The volunteer liaison will work with Mercy Green Team to discuss new initiatives and supervise team volunteers.
Patient wheelchair transporters will learn their way around the hospital and transport patients throughout the medical center.
Mercy Volunteer Services is seeking a department liaison with good customer service skills, computer knowledge (including Microsoft Office software), and the ability to multi-task in a busy office environment.
Mercy Health Center of Carroll County Volunteer Position
Volunteer tasks include filing, faxing, copying, scheduling appointments and other office duties to help the registration staff in the physical therapy department. Physical therapy is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Volunteers are asked to work a minimum two-hour shift during the department’s open hours.
Over 580 active volunteers provide valuable services to Mercy Medical Center’s patients, visitors and staff at the hospital’s main campus and satellite locations. Volunteer applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and additional help is always needed.
