Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center is currently seeking volunteers to serve at the medical center’s information desks, gift shop, boutique, human resources and mail room departments. Training will be provided for all positions.
Information desk volunteers need to have computer knowledge, good telephone etiquette and good customer service skills. Positions are available during different shifts, including evenings and weekends. The ability to transport patients is required for some desks assignments.
Mercy Mail Room is seeking a volunteer available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to sort and deliver mail to all hospital departments. Position requires a considerable amount of walking.
The Human Resources Virtual Liaison volunteer position updates digital signage around the medical center. Applicants should have excellent computer and written skills, and should be comfortable organizing and condensing information. Scheduling for this position is flexible.
Mercy Boutique volunteers assist customers with merchandise and ring sales. Applicants must have strong customer service skills. Current openings are 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. or 1 – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Mercy Gift Shop volunteers assist customers and ring sales. Applicants must have strong customer service skills. Current openings are the second and fourth Tuesday (4 p.m. – 8 p.m.), Wednesday (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.) of each month.
Over 580 active volunteers provide valuable services to Mercy Medical Center’s patients, visitors and staff at the hospital’s main campus and satellite locations. Volunteer applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and additional help is always needed.
