Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center recently opened a newly renovated, state-of-the-art Cardiac Diagnostic Department. The new department, located on the second floor of Mercy’s Surgery Center, offers a convenient, comfortable and relaxing setting for cardiac diagnostics, combined with the most up-to-date, high-tech diagnostic equipment. Separate outpatient and inpatient procedural areas are included. Showers are available for patients returning to work.
Procedures performed in this new area include Electrocardiograms (EKG), Echocardiograms, Stress and Pharmaceutical Echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiogram (T.E.E), Exercise Stress testing, Lexiscan Stress testing, Dobutamine Stress testing, Head-up Tilt Table studies, Holter Monitor (24 and 48 hour) , 30 day Event Monitor and Cardiac PET scans.

With the nation’s only Emergency Department Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Mercy’s Emergency Chest Pain Center has set the world-record STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) time of seven minutes in stopping a heart attack.
