Mercy Medical Center Offers FREE Hernia Screening & Education Program June 9

Posted on: May 23, 2018

Do you think you might have a hernia? Common symptoms for hernias include nausea, groin pain, and a bulge in the lower abdomen. Join Mercy Medical Center on Saturday, June 9, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., for a FREE hernia-screening and educational program hosted by Mercy Robotic Surgery Center. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet individually with a surgeon for a hernia exam and learn more about minimally invasive robotic surgery used to correct the medical problem.

The hernia screenings will be performed by Mercy robotic-trained general surgeons, Russell L. Ramey, M.D., and Mazin Shackour, M.D., and will be held at Mercy Health Center of Jackson, 2ndfloor community room, located at 7337 Caritas Circle N.W., Massillon, next to the Paul and Carol David YMCA. Robotic surgery allows patients to have a shorter hospital stay, less pain/discomfort, faster recovery and reduced blood loss. Mercy Robotic Surgery Center is home to Ohio’s first da Vinci X Surgical Robot, the most advanced robot of its kind.

Reservations are required and can be made online at cantonmercy.org/hernia-screening-0618/ or call 330-489-1333.
