Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center announced Barbara Yingling, RN, BSN, MAed, has been appointed vice president and chief nursing officer (CNO). An employee at Mercy Medical Center since 1999, Yingling is an accomplished nursing leader with over 20 years of progressive healthcare management experience.
Yingling has served as a critical care nurse, director of nursing staff development and assistant chief nursing officer at Mercy Medical Center. She formerly served as a sophomore and senior level adjunct faculty at Malone College. Prior to her time at Mercy Medical Center, Yingling worked at Doctors Hospital and Massillon Community Hospital.
Yingling received her diploma of nursing at Massillon Community Hospital in 1983, where she served as class president for two years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Walsh College in 1992 and received her Master of Arts in Education and Management at Walsh University in 1996.
In 2007 she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, PI CHI Chapter. Yingling is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Stark County. She is an active volunteer at St. Philip and James Catholic Church in Canal Fulton, where she also teaches fifth grade CCD classes. She enjoys most sporting events, cooking, reading and hiking. Yingling and Louis, her husband of 25 years, own a 53-acre farm, which produces pumpkins each year.Please click here for media inquiries
