Mercy Medical Center Announces FREE Medicare Education Programs in June

Mercy Medical Center Senior Friends invites the community to the following FREE Medicare programs throughout the month of June:

~ Medicare Q & A’s
Thursday, June 6th, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Mercy Health Center of Massillon, 2935 Lincoln Way West, Massillon

Thursday, June 20th, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Mercy Health Center of Tuscarawas County, 1031 West High Ave., New Philadelphia

Your State and local OSHIIP representatives will be available on-site to answer your Medicare questions. Walk-ins are welcome!

Mercy Medical Center has partnered with the Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) to be your local Stark County OSHIIP site.  A free service, OSHIIP is a part of ODI and provides unbiased information and counseling to people covered by Medicare.

~ Medicare Options Event
Tuesday, June 18th, 9 a.m. – Mercy Hall Auditorium, 1320 Mercy Dr., N.W., Canton

This event, designed to help seniors choose the right Medicare Plan, will begin with a Medicare overview by Terri Gursky, Mercy’sState Certified Medicare counselor and Stark County OSHIIP (Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program) coordinator.  Guests may also compare the cost, coverage and convenience of several Medicare Advantage Plans in one location. No reservations are required. Refreshments will be served.

~ Social Security, Medicare & YOU
Tuesday, June 25th, 12 noon – Mercy Hall Auditorium, 1320 Mercy Dr. NW, Canton

Attend this free educational program and light luncheon to learn more about social security benefits and the changes to Medicare and Medicaid that affect seniors today. This event will feature guest speakers, Robert Fenn, public affairs specialist at Social Security Administration, and Sarah Florimonte, community liaison for OSHIIP.  Lunch will be sponsored by Brewster Parke and Bel Air Senior Living Community. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 330-489-1333 or 1-800-223-8662.
