Mercy Medical Center, in partnership with Caring Connections, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), is inviting the community to an informative seminar, Planning Ahead for End of Life Issues, on Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Church of the Lakes, 5944 Fulton Drive N.W., in Canton (on the corner of Brunnerdale Ave. N.W. and Fulton Drive N.W.).
Based on the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association “LIVE” program, this important event includes multiple sessions to help prepare participants for all end of life issues that might arise. These sessions include Health Care (health care services available, such as skilled nursing, homecare, palliative care, hospice, and non-skilled assistance in the home, and how to pay for it), Health Care Decisions (advanced directives, living wills, durable power of attorney, etc.), Legal Issues (managing your money/property, important papers/contacts and planning for care of dependents and pets), Funeral Arrangements (memorials, writing an obituary, bequests, notification checklist and more) and Grief and Emotional/Spiritual Support.
Each participant will receive FREE lunch and a binder containing information from all of the above sessions.
