Canton, OH: Mercy Medical Center Hospice is seeking office assistant, fundraising, respite, and “11th hour” volunteers. A project coordinator for fundraising events will assist Mercy Hospice staff with fundraising efforts, which raise money for patients and their families. Respite volunteers sit with a patient giving caregivers a temporary break from their caregiving responsibilities, and 11th hour volunteers provide comfort to patients during life’s final hours. Volunteer training will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13. Mercy Hospice is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to care for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice focuses on the quality of life and draws upon the expertise of physicians, clergy, nurses, counselors, social workers, home health aides, therapists and trained volunteers.
