Mercy Heart Center will be offering a FREE heart healthy cooking demonstration, Love Your Heart, Eat Healthy, to the community on Wednesday, February 4th in Mercy Hall Auditorium, 1320 Mercy Dr. NW, Canton, behind the hospital’s main parking deck. Beginning at 12 noon, this program will teach participants how to make healthier versions of several food and dessert items.
Love Your Heart, Eat Healthy will include a full cooking demonstration by Mercy’s chef John Olihan, taste testing, recipes, a special give-a-way item and a presentation by dietitian, Kathy Wise, RDN, LD, LWC, CWP. Wise is director of Mercy Weight Management, OPTIFAST® and Employee Health & Wellness at Mercy Medical Center. The taste testing portion will include both traditional and healthier versions of the following recipes: Apple Berry Crisp, Roasted Red Potatoes and Citrus and Honey Ritz Crusted Chicken.
