Posted on: September 30, 2016

During its recent Founders Day Donor Recognition event, Mercy Development Foundation awarded Randolph L. Snow its highest honor – the St. Augustine Award for Distinguished Service. This award recognizes an individual whose leadership and vision has impacted and helped transform Mercy Medical Center.

A local attorney and community advocate, Snow is a dedicated servant leader to Mercy Medical Center. He served on Mercy’s Board of Directors from 2002 to 2011 and was also a member of the Mercy Development Foundation Board from 2011 through 2015. Snow chaired the Mercy Fund Development Committee and initiated the Planned Giving Committee.

“Randy is an outstanding attorney and esteemed community advocate who, through God’s blessing, became a devoted and dedicated servant leader to Mercy Medical Center,” says Thomas F. Turner, vice president of Development and Government Relations and president of Mercy Development Foundation. “His love, kindness and unbounded generosity continue to bless us.”

Snow is also active in numerous civic, charitable and professional organizations. He has served as chair of the Education Committee of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, trustee of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges and board member of Canton Tomorrow, Inc. He is also a past president and long-term board member of the Canton City Board of Education and former board member of the Stark Community Foundation.

Founders Day 2016 Marks Mercy’s 108th Anniversary

Each year, Mercy Development Foundation recognizes the founding of Mercy Medical Center by the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, who opened the hospital’s doors on September 24, 1908 – the Feast Day of Our Lady of Mercy. Founders Day Donor Recognition is also a time to honor and thank the foundation’s many supporters.

In September 2011, Mercy formally and publically launched Mercy Development Foundation as a separate, non-profit, fundraising arm of the hospital with a sole purpose of enhancing Mercy’s capabilities, allowing it to be responsive to the health care needs of our community and helping it continue the mission established by the Sisters of Charity 108 years ago.
