Mercy Appoints Dr. Hudak As New Medical Director of Sports Medicine

Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center welcomes Mark J. Hudak, M.D., as medical director of Mercy Sports Medicine. Board certified in family practice with a certificate of added qualifications in Primary Care Sports Medicine, Hudak has a special interest in injury prevention, treatment of sport-related orthopaedic and medical conditions, and teaching athletic training and medical students.

A native of Canton, Ohio, Hudak graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and received his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. He completed his primary care sports medicine fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he worked with the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Ballet and Cleveland State University organizations.

Hudak has served as the Kent State University team physician for the past 15 years and is medical director of the athletic training education program at Kent State. Hudak also serves as team physician for Malone University. Hudak is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and American Academy of Family Physicians.

Hudak will be available, by appointment, at Mercy Health Center – Plain Community, located on the campus of Glen Oak High School at 1811 Schneider Ave., NE, Canton. To schedule an appointment, call 330-588-4884.

In addition to sports medicine, Mercy Health Center – Plain Community also offers Mercy STATCARE Immediate Care Center, laboratory and radiology services.
