Medicare Options

Posted on: January 11, 2010

Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center Senior Friends is sponsoring a free Medicare Options Event on Tues., Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. in the Mercy Medical Office Building Auditorium.
This marketing event will begin with a Medicare overview by Mercy’s Medicare counselor Terri Gursky. Guests may also compare the cost, coverage and convenience of several Medicare Advantage Plans in one location. No reservations are required.
Representatives from several different Medicare Advantage Plans will be on site.
Even though the Medicare Annual Coordinated Election Period ended on December 31, many can still benefit from the Medicare Advantage Enrollment Period that runs through March 31. During this time, individuals on Medicare can make one plan change; either into or out of an advantage plan.  Additional Medicare Options Events are slated for Feb. 23 and March 16.
"In Stark County alone, there are 44 different Medicare Part C plans to choose from," says Gursky, who also offers one-on-one Medicare discussions by appointment. "Mercy’s Medicare Options Event allows individuals to explore their choices and ask questions before making a selection."
