Safety of Patients, Staff and Community Are Top Priorities
Mercy Medical Center is in a state of preparation for the Coronavirus disease, also known as COVID-19. The hospital is advising patients, staff, and the community to remain calm.
While this situation is still unfolding, the immediate health risk from COVID-19 for the general American public is considered low. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) are aggressively responding to the outbreak and preparing first responders, healthcare providers, and health systems for response.
Mercy takes its role in providing care for those who may be affected by COVID-19 very seriously and is taking the following actions:
- Participation in bi-weekly calls organized by ODH.
- Adherence to all CDC and ODH recommendations.
- Convening weekly meetings of the hospital’s emergency preparedness committee for updates and assessments from Mercy Infection Control.
- Distribution of CDC information materials for staff and the general public.
