Canton resident, Mario Gulley, Mercy Food and Nutrition Services, has been selected as the hospital’s July Star Performer employee.
Gulley has excellent customer service skills and is loved by hospital employees and cafeteria guests. “Managing and working together with Mario has been a pleasure,” said Rick Short, manager. “He will make you smile and knows when to be professional and when he can joke with co-workers. He is a great team player and is always willing to help.”
At Mercy Medical Center, Gulley enjoys making customers smile and interacting with others. “I like to help in any way I can and to make people feel important.” He is proud to live in this community. “I like it because the Hall of Fame is here in Canton and football is my favorite sport. I also enjoy basketball.”
Gulley’s family is very important to him. “Mercy gives me a substantial amount of time to spend with them,” he says. Short says Gulley takes pride in his work. “I am pleased to have him on our team.”
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown presented Mario with his Star Performer award on July 3 during his visit to the hospital.
The Star Performer program is the hospital’s employee recognition and rewards program. Hospital employees, volunteers and staff are nominated each month for demonstrating outstanding performance, being a team player, going “above and beyond”, being creative and innovative and for championing service excellence. Please click here for media inquiries
