Canton, OH – Congratulations to Canton resident, Gail Coleman, Unit Assistant, Same Day Surgery, for being named Mercy Medical Center’s Star Performer employee for June 2012. The Star Performer program is the hospital’s employee recognition and rewards program. Hospital employees, volunteers and staff are nominated each month for demonstrating outstanding performance, being a team player, going “above and beyond”, being creative and innovative and championing service excellence.
Many nominations – from appreciative co-workers – complimented Coleman for always going "above and beyond" to make everyone else’s job easier. She has been labeled the "glue" that helps keep her unit running. Also considered the "brains" of the department, she always remains calm, pleasant and compassionate to everyone around her, regardless of the situation. Coleman has been an employee at Mercy Medical Center for more than thirty years and was presented her award by Mercy Senior Vice President and COO, Jeff Smith, Human Resources Manager, Charity Davis and Vicki Merrick, Administrative Director of Surgical Services.
