Congratulations to Canal Fulton resident, John Wright, senior painter, Mercy Plant Engineering, for being named Mercy Medical Center’s August 2014 Star Performer employee. The Star Performer program is the hospital’s employee recognition and rewards program. Hospital employees, volunteers and staff are nominated each month for demonstrating outstanding performance, being a team player, going “above and beyond”, being creative and innovative and for championing service excellence.
Wright was nominated by co-workers for helping a patient’s husband. While on lunch break, Wright noticed an elderly gentleman in Mercy’s parking lot by his car with a flat tire. Without hesitation, Wright cheerfully helped change the tire while the man went to pick up his wife. He has been an employee at the hospital since 1982 and was presented with his award by Thomas E. Cecconi, president & CEO of Mercy Medical Center.
