Mercy ANGELs Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary

All women are at risk for breast cancer; however, statistics show that although breast cancer incidence among African American women is relatively low, their mortality rate is much higher compared to women of other races. To help reverse this trend, Mercy Medical Center adopted a local chapter of the ANGEL (African American Women Nurturing and Giving Each Other Life) Network in 2005.

Mercy Boutique Hosts Author of "HATventures of Hope" on October 30 for Book Signing

Author Jenny McCray will be at Mercy Boutique from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 to sign copies of her children’s book “HATventures of Hope,” an inspsiring story told through the eyes of a child as he faces his mother’s cancer diagnosis. When his mother loses her hair during treatment, the boy takes on the important task of choosing a hat for her to wear each day.

Canton, Ohio: During its annual homecoming dinner recently, the Mercy School of Nursing Alumni Association dedicated its new historic wall display, located in Mercy Medical Center’s Mercy Hall Auditorium. Designed by local artist Diane Adams, the display – entitled, Mercy School of Nursing, 1908-1984, A Legacy of Caring – features history, memorabilia, artifacts, outstanding alumni portraits and more. Mercy Chaplain Father Donald Feicht conducted the blessing ceremony.
