Over and above our long-standing ENERGY STAR ratings, Mercy strives to recycle as much as possible and continuously improve our recycling practices.
Since 2009 Mercy has been an ENERGY STAR facility. With our eighth consecutive ENERGY STAR designation in 2016, the hospital was among just four nationwide to achieve this prestigious designation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
In 2016, the hospital recycled nearly a million pounds of trash, or about a third of our facility’s waste. This infographic breaks down our recycling numbers, and you can learn more about our green efforts here.
