Ahmed Sabe, MD, is the executive director of The Heart Hospital at Mercy and president of Mercy Cardiovascular Institute (MCI). A Harvard-trained interventional cardiologist and former director of interventional cardiology at Penn State University, he has taught many heart doctors the latest angioplasty techniques and guided the treatment of thousands of heart patients.
As the most experienced Canton, Ohio-based physician in coronary, valvular and percutaneous circulatory support, Dr. Sabe has held leadership roles at local and national levels in cardiovascular disease care, and he has achieved many impressive heart-care firsts, such as the world’s first angioplasty in an emergency department. Additionally, his expertise includes minimally invasive, transarterial heart-valve replacement surgery.
Today, thanks to Dr. Sabe’s leadership, Mercy Emergency Chest Pain Center consistently achieves world-record times for reopening closed arteries during heart attacks, which has saved many lives.
