Jennifer Cummings, MD, interventional cardiac eletrophysiologist, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart arrhythmias — or heart rhythm problems — and their symptoms, including:
- Irregular heart beat
- Atrial flutter (atrial fibrillation or a fib)
- Abnormally fast heart rate at rest (tachycardia)
- Abnormally slow heartbeat (bradycardia)
- Heart palpitatons
- Fainting / passing out (syncope)
- Congestive heart failure
In addition to arrythmia medication management, Dr. Cummings performs cardiac ablation, electrical cardioversion and installs pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr. Cummings completed her cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where she then held the position of Research Director (EP). Prior to joining MCI, she was also an associate professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Toledo.
Dr. Cummings is board-certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiology and internal medicine and has a special interest in device based therapies of heart failure, subcutaneous ICD systems and arrhythmias.
