Have you wondered what you would do if you were approached by an attacker or mugger? Do you know how to keep from panicking or how to hit properly? Mercy Medical Center’s Wellness Program is offering a six-week Women’s Personal Protection class beginning Thursday, June 9 at 4:45 p.m. The class will be held inside Mercy’s Medical Office Building Auditorium and is open to females age 16 and older.
This is NOT a martial arts class – the techniques are easy to learn and will allow you to escape and/or disable your attacker. Participants will learn how to effectively deal with the most common attacks against women and how to prevent verbal assaults from becoming physical. The certified instructor for this course is a member of the Association for Women’s Self-Defense Advancement (AWSDA) and the Ohio Crime Prevention Association (OCPA).
Join Mercy for a spirited and informative way to empower and educate women. Pre-registration is required. The classes are free to Mercy Wellness Center Members. Non-member employees and guests are $25.00 per person. To register and for more information, call 330-489-1479 or e-mail Kathy.wise@cantonmercy.org.
