Author Jenny McCray will be at Mercy Boutique from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 30, to sign copies of her book, HATventures of Hope, an inspiring story told through the eyes of a child as he faces his mother’s cancer diagnosis. A portion of the net profits from every book sold are donated to Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
About the book: When his mother loses her hair during treatment, the boy takes on the important task of choosing a hat each day. The hats take them on adventures as they get lost in their imaginations and live each day to the fullest.
About the author: McCray says her eyes were opened to the world of cancer more than ever before when her dear friend, Lindsay, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 28. Moved by her journey, McCray wrote this children’s book capturing the love between a mother and a child through a cancer diagnosis. Her sister Jessica Donehue illustrated the book.
