Stark County has one of the highest overall infant mortality rates (and the highest African American infant mortality rates) in Ohio. All new moms and families are encouraged to attend this program to learn about early access to prenatal care, safe baby sleeping techniques and more. The program will feature Frederick U. Euro, MD, obstetrician & gynecologist; Stacy Kovacs, RN, BSN, director, Maternal/Child Services at Mercy Medical Center and Vicki Hogan, Mercy infant mortality advocate. In addition to a FREE lunch, attendees will also receive gift bags and door prizes.
Funded in part by a grant from the Ohio Commission on Minority Health, Mercy invites the community to attend one of these educational luncheons and join the fight to celebrate more first birthdays in Stark County. Happy, Health, Safe Babies is being held as part of Mercy Medical Center’s Minority Health Month initiatives.
Although these are FREE programs, reservations are requested as seating is limited. Register by calling Mercy Healthcare Connection at 330-489-1333 or 1-800-223-8662.
