Mercy Medical Center’s Regional Rehabilitation Center will sponsor a brain function conference, The Executive Functions of the Brain & Higher-Order Cognition (Recent Findings & Ideas), on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. inside the Barrette Business & Community Center at Walsh University (2020 E. Maple St., North Canton, OH, 44720).
This conference, open to physicians, therapists and other healthcare professionals, is designed to provide the latest information regarding the structure of the brain, the anatomy of the skull and causes of brain problems. Topics for the seminar include The Structure and the Anatomy of the Skull and Causes of Brain Problems, The Executive Functions of the Brain and Higher-Order Cognition: Recent Findings and Assessment of Cognitive Abilities and the Assessment of Deficits of the Right and Left Frontal Lobes.
The keynote speaker for this conference is Elkhonon Goldberg, Ph.D. Dr. Goldberg serves as Clinical Professor of Neurology at New York University School of Medicine. He is an active researcher in the field of cognitive neuroscience and has more than 30 years of clinical experience in traumatic brain injury, memory impairment, executive deficit, dementia, stroke, dyslexias, attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder and other conditions.
Additional speakers for The Executive Functions of the Brain & Higher-Order Cognition include John C. Andrefsky, M.D., Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Medical University and Abbas Sadeghian, Ph.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist for the Mercy Regional Rehabilitation Center at Mercy Medical Center.
