Mercy "Elves" Assemble Gifts for Local Children

It has become tradition at Mercy Medical Center that each year, Mercy Plant Engineering employees volunteer their time to assemble holiday gifts for staff of the hospital, free of charge. During breaks or lunch hour, you’ll find “elves” from Mercy Plant Engineering carefully working to put together toys, electronics, grills and more so they’re ready for Christmas morning.

This year the team assembled four bikes brought to them by employees from Mercy Medical Center’s ninth floor. Mercy employees purchased the bikes to donate to a local family through the hospital’s Adopt-a-Family program. Pink and green, new shiny bikes will be opened by local children thanks to the generosity of hospital employees.

Mercy Plant Engineering employees pictured left to right are (front row) Steve Zehnder, Walt Gayer, Greg Basinger, Alicia Doran, Tom Auseon, Rick Emery and John Laskey; (back row) Steve Dillon, Sig Lundberg, Earl Hupp, Mark Mickley and Jim Dornberger.
