Meet Jackie Betz, a Mercy volunteer for more than a year. She has accumulated 380 service hours most recently as part of her concourse transport and human resources assignments. Previous volunteer time was spent performing clerical tasks for Mercy Professional Care Physicians and Mercy Medical Affairs.

Cardiac Nurse, Heart Attack Survivor: 'It Permeated the Entire Family Dynamic'

On September 16, 2012, David survived a heart attack. He was only 47 years old at the time.

“That heart attack didn’t just affect me,” he says. “It permeated every aspect of the dynamics between me and my family. It still impacts our lives today.”

Hearing-impaired Employee Says Favorite Sound Is Hearing the Word 'Daddy'

Currently a student in the Culinary Education program at Stark State College, Maurice’s goal is to become a cook. Maurice is also hearing impaired.

Three Retirees Reflect on Their Years of Service at Mercy Medical Center

The median number of years a salary worker stays with their employer is 4.6, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Not so for Mercy Medical Center retirees Larry Ramer, Kaye Wingert and Steve Boger. Collectively, the trio served 121 years at the hospital. With two of these dedicated employees recently retiring and one retiring in March, we wanted to learn more about these faithful workers and why they committed their careers to the hospital and serving the community.
