From Heart Attack Survivor to Patient Ambassador, Volunteer Todd Hall Says, 'Every Day Is a Blessing.'

Posted by Cindy Hickey on Wed, Apr 26, 2017 - 3:28 PM in Ambassadors , Volunteers

It all happened so fast and without warning. Last June, before he could even draw his first monthly pension from Lockheed Martin, Todd Hall suffered a major heart attack necessitating emergency quintuple bypass surgery and later a defibrillator implant. Although he still wonders how many times he can cheat death, Todd, now a Mercy Heart Center volunteer and patient ambassador, says, "I've come to the conclusion that it's simply not my time yet, and I'm going to keep on enjoying life. Every day is a blessing."

Posted by Cindy Hickey on Tue, Feb 28, 2017 - 1:27 PM in Awards and Recognition , Employees

"I love working at Mercy. I really do. I have had managers who have helped enhance a lot of gifts I had in me that I didn’t even know I had. I’ve learned a lot. When told I received this award, I was more overwhelmed than anything. I do things for God, not for recognition, but sometimes its nice to be on the receiving end. I am humbly grateful." —Shirley Weatherspoon, Mercy’s 2016 Star Performer of the Year

Posted by Cindy Hickey on Wed, Jul 20, 2016 - 1:49 PM in Employees , Patient Stories

Many people find emotional support from their religious or spiritual beliefs and their faith community. Prayer and reflective meditation may bring you solace, perspective, and inspire hope. For some, their faith has always been a source of strength and comfort. Others find that their faith is renewed by the challenges they are facing.
