Dr. Vrabel received his medical degree from the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine with postgraduate training at Doctors Hospital of Stark County. Dr. Vrabel is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine and serves as the medical director of the OPTIFAST® weight management program.
Kathy G. Wise is director of Health and Wellness at Mercy Medical Center. She is a licensed registered dietitian, certified personal trainer and licensed wellness coach with extensive experience in creating nutrition, health and wellness programs for hospitals, corporations and individuals. Wise is a spokesperson for the American Heart Association and has served on many local boards. She has over 20 years experience working with OPTIFAST® and other medical weight management programs. Wise received her coach training through Wellcoaches Corporation in 2005. As a coach she has help hundreds of people identify their priorities, get the roadblocks out of the way, develop a personal wellness vision, and a plan to achieve realistic goals.
Robin K. Doidge, RD, LD, is a registered licensed dietitian with over 22 years of experience with the OPTIFAST® program for weight loss. She has worked for hospitals and corporations as a program director and dietitian, developing classes and programs in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. Bowman has consulted for Novartis Nutrition Corporation, Health Risk Management Division, a global leader in the area of clinically validated weight management. She also has experience as a bariatric dietitian and implemented the OPTIFAST® program as a component for a bariatric surgical center.
Beth Matthews is a registered, licensed dietitian with both a bachelor and master’s degree in nutrition from Kent State University and additional adult weight management certification from the American Dietetic Association. She has worked for the past six years as an outpatient dietitian at Mercy Medical Center and as a research dietitian for various weight management studies. In addition to helping clients reach their health related goals, Matthews also enjoys biking and running. She recently completed her first full marathon.
Sharon Luke is a graduate of the University of Akron, the Cuyahoga Community College Physician Assistant Program, and Cleveland State University. She has been a certified physician assistant since 1996, working in various medical subspecialties. Sharon currently serves as the program director for the Physician Assistant Studies Program at the University of Mount Union, and is the physician assistant for the OPTIFAST® weight management program at Mercy Medical Center.
Michael Valentino is a physician's assistant with the OPTIFAST® Program at Mercy Medical Center and Mercy Work Health and Safety. Michael previously spent 20 years as a surgeon's assistant at Mercy. He holds degrees from Akron University (surgical assistant and technical education), the University of the State of New York (nursing degree), Cuyahoga Community College (physician's assistant - certified), a masters degree from the University of Nebraska (physician's assistant studies) and Duke University (certificate in occupational and environmental medicine). He currently lives in Canton with his wife, three daughters and two stepsons.
