Mercy Sponsors Voices of Recovery At First Ladies’ Library
Part of Betty Ford Drug and Alcohol Awareness Day and Caring Hearts exhibit, program will enact women’s stories of chemical dependency recovery

Canton, Ohio: In honor of Betty Ford Drug and Alcohol Awareness Day, Mercy Medical Center is sponsoring Voices of Recovery, a special enactment of the stories of women who seek drug and alcohol recovery, on Tues., April 14, at 1 p.m. at the National First Ladies’ Library Education and Research Center, located at 205 S. Market Ave. in Canton.

This event is free and open to the public. From 2 – 4 p.m., guests may also view informational displays and speak with staff members from Mercy IMPACT, the hospital’s chemical dependency rehabilitation program.

Voices of Recovery will be presented as part of the National First Ladies’ Library current exhibit, Caring Hearts: the Health of a Nation, featuring red dresses worn by First Ladies and celebrities in support of women's heart disease awareness.

Mercy IMPACT provides a full range of recovery services, including inpatient detoxification and partial-hospitalization day treatment. For maximum availability and convenience, the program offers alcohol and drug assessment, individual treatment planning, chemical dependency education, couples and family counseling, and group therapy in an outpatient setting.
