Mercy Senior Friends Celebrate Hall of Fame with Deck Party “This event started to provide a safe place for seniors to watch the Hall of Fame fireworks, said Terri Gursky, Mercy Senior Friends advisor. “With the hospital’s location right off I77, parking is convenient and there’s less traffic, so it’s easier to drive to and from the event. Over 400 Senior Friends members attended the deck party and enjoyed entertainment, a picnic dinner, ice cream, popcorn, raffle drawings and a great seat to watch the HOF fireworks. Massillon resident Bill McKinney awed the crowd with his magic performance and 12-year-old Colleen Bentler from North Canton played classical guitar. Among the 20 raffle baskets included one for Mercy Senior Friends JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes team. The basket raised over $300 to donate to JDRF. Mercy Senior Friends is a free benefits program for adults age 50 and better. The program offers members health and wellness programs along with social and travel opportunities.
