Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center has partnered with local Medicine Shoppe and Medicine Center Pharmacy locations to offer low-cost blood screenings to the community during the month of December. Each location will be offering total cholesterol screening for $2, glucose screening (blood sugar) for $2, and lipid profiles (total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL) for $8, at their respective locations on the following dates:
Medicine Center Pharmacy - Canton – Tuesday, December 6th (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
2526 Tuscarawas St. W., Canton
(The first Tuesday of each month)
Medicine Center Pharmacy - Louisville – Tuesday, December 13th (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
700 W. Main St., Louisville
(The second Tuesday of each month)
Medicine Center Pharmacy - Minerva – Tuesday, December 20th (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

(The third Tuesday of each month)
The Medicine Shoppe – New Philadelphia – Tuesday, December 27th (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Mercy Cancer Center has been accredited since 1986 as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. In 2008 CoC awarded Mercy Cancer Center the Outstanding Achievement Award for excellence in cancer care. Mercy is the only area hospital and one of just 95 facilities nationwide to earn the award, along with the CoC¹s three-year re-accreditation with commendation. Fewer than 20 percent of cancer programs in the United States attain this superior recognition. This earmark of quality ensures patients will receive the very best comprehensive cancer care without ever leaving Stark County.
