Mercy Service League Raises $200,000 for Hospital ED
Canton, Ohio: The Mercy Service League recently held its annual year-end banquet where officers presented a $200,000 check to Mercy Medical Center – the result of 2012–2013 fundraising efforts. Since 2009 Mercy Service League has raised $752,000 for the emergency department expansion and renovation project by planning and sponsoring events such as Harvest Ball, Celebrity Bartending at 91 Wood Fired Oven, Downtown at Dusk, Spring and Fall Treasures, and Chateau Noel.
In anticipation of the 2013-2014 membership year, the Service League also announced its new officers, who confirmed their commitment to lead the organization over the next 12 months. Outgoing officers congratulated new officers, including Joni Locke, president, Cindy Ertle, treasurer, Wendy Lichtenwalter, recording secretary, Daphne Thomson, corresponding secretary, Anna Mavrakis, vice president, Crystal Torrence, membership, and Erin Shea, assistant treasurer.
Hospital and Mercy Development Foundation administrators thanked Linda Ganser, outgoing president of Mercy Service League, for her leadership during the 2012–2013 membership year.
“We are so appreciative of what Linda and her fellow officers have accomplished,” says Laura Jo Hawk, director of Mercy Development Foundation. “They play a significant role in helping the medical center carry out its mission in Stark County and beyond.”
