Mercy Regional Rehabilitation Center Sponsors Brain Injury Conference September 22nd

Canton, OH: Mercy Medical Center’s Regional Rehabilitation Center will sponsor a brain injury conference, How to Mend the Mind (A Interdisciplinary Approach to Treatment of Brain Injury), on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2121 George Halas Dr. NW, Canton).

This conference, open to physicians, therapists and other healthcare professionals, is designed to provide the latest information regarding the medical assessment and treatment of all levels of brain injury along with the most advanced rehabilitation techniques to achieve success throughout the health care continuum. Topics for the seminar include A Heads Up On Concussions, Management of the Moderate to Severe Brain Injury, Advancements in Rehabilitation Principles following Brain Injury and The IMPACT of Return to Play.

The keynote speaker for How to Mend the Mind is Cindy B. Ivanhoe, M.D. Dr. Ivanhoe serves as Chief Medical Officer for Mentis Neuro Rehabilitation. She also serves as Associate Professor for Baylor College of Medicine University of Texas Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Alliance and is recognized as an international expert and speaker on spasticity management and hypertonia.
