Canton, Ohio: Mercy Radiology was recently awarded another three-year term of accreditation in MRI as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment.

“Mercy’s radiologic technologists have advanced registry certificates in MRI, and our radiologists sub-specialize in each modality,” says Judith Hadam, administrative director of radiology services at Mercy Medical Center.

Mercy ACR accredited services include MRI since 2000; mammography since 1995; ultrasound since 2003; and stereotactic breast biopsy since 2005. “Mercy Radiology accreditations are voluntary and demonstrate our department’s continuing commitment to quality patient care,” Hadam says.

Mercy Radiology Services are available at Mercy Medical Center’s main hospital campus and Mercy Health Centers in Carrollton, Jackson Township, Lake Township, Louisville, North Canton, Plain Township and Tuscarawas County.
