Canton, Ohio: Mercy Medical Center recently announced plans to expand its services at Mercy Health Center of Louisville, located at 1302 West Main Street in Louisville. Construction at the facility will begin this month and is expected to finish by the end of the year.

Mercy is investing more than $360,000 in the purchase of new medical and office equipment to enhance laboratory and radiology capabilities, including X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, bone density testing and a mobile CT unit. The new 2,158-sq.-ft. office will also provide a comfortable, contemporary patient-care setting.

Jeff Smith, senior vice president and COO at Mercy, says the hospital is pleased to strengthen its presence in Louisville. He adds, "We've had a close relationship with the Louisville community for many years and look forward to bringing more advanced technology diagnostic services closer to home."

Louisville Mayor Cynthia Kerchner says the health center will be an asset to Louisville and surrounding communities. “The health care of our citizens is very important, and Mercy will provide the improved technology and convenience we need,” Kerchner says.

The health center's extended services will also support Community Health Care of Louisville, an on-site family practice group that includes William Lago, M.D., Kevin McDaniel, M.D., Jill Parrish, M.D., and Maryjane Haney, C.N.P. The practice, which provides health care for all ages, is accepting new patients and offers evening appointments.

“We’re excited about Mercy’s health center additions because they will augment the care we give in the office,” says Dr. Lago. “Patients will have access to the latest technology as well as a wider range of services without needing to leave the Louisville area. No other health center in the community offers this benefit.”

Mercy Health Center of Louisville is currently open for lab, radiology and mammography on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.; and on Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. For more information, call 330-875-0096.
